McKinney airport expansion moves ahead despite election uncertainty

Even as McKinney voters head to the polls to elect a new mayor, the city is pressing ahead with its controversial plans to expand the McKinney National Airport. Backers of the project say the expansion could generate $1 billion in economic impact within a few years of launching commercial service. Critics have concerns about traffic, wildlife and rising property taxes.
