GlobalWafers secures CHIPS Act funding for Sherman silicon wafer factory
GlobalWafers Co., which is building a new multibillion-dollar silicon wafer factory in Sherman north of Dallas, has finalized an agreement with the federal government for as much as $406 million in funding. The Taiwanese tech company is hopeful it can start production in 2025 on this first of its kind facility for the United States in more than 20 years.
