Colossal Biosciences, a $10B Texas startup, genetically engineered the dire wolf

You might remember dire wolves from the "Game of Thrones" series. But they were real world animals that went extinct more than 10,000 years ago. Through genetic engineering, a Texas-based startup has reproduced a new version of the wolves. In this story, we explore how the project advances the company's de-extinction and re-wilding programs, as well as how the wolf pups have grown and matured since they were born in the fall of 2024.
